o Description: This is part of a body of work I did back in 2022, where I was questioning and playing around with ideas of attachment. Attachment to my own work, but also to memories and the past. I painted multiple layers of images, one covering the next, and once I felt that the painting was "completed," I would cover it with a layer of white paint. It is also dealing with issues of assimilation to a culture which I thought wasn't so different then mine, but I quickly learned that it was. Covering hours of work in white can be seen as a violent and poetic gesture.
